It was a day that had a bit of everything: rain, wind, sun, humidity, joy, sadness, tears, laughter. With so much love and excitement, Erin’s mom, Diane, had helped plan Erin & John’s wedding day. Erin had told me how much her mom loves photos and, though she was battling cancer and would need breaks from standing, “She loves pictures (that’s where I get it from) so she will be very willing to pose for pictures!! We would like all the pictures!” It was devastating when Diane passed away three weeks before the wedding. Her presense was felt in every moment of the day and the juxtaposition of emotions of a joyful wedding day with the deep sorrow of a recent loss made for a mixed bag of feelings for everyone present.

It was beautiful to witness, seeing joy and sadness exist together.

And truly, it was a beautiful day. We dodged some rain and then, when that passed over, the humidity was so thick, you could almost see it. By the time the ceremony was over, the sun had broken out and the wind had pushed the humidity aside and we had a gorgeous evening for making use of the outdoor patio at Copper Creek Ridge.
