This weekend were our Christmas program services at church. I was in the choir and it was truly such a fun experience! Here were some highlights (in no particular order).
1. “Joyful, Joyful” finale with the orchestra being so rock-my-socks-off that we couldn’t help but bop as we sang. It was truly a joyful experience all four services!
2. The chills I got every time we sang the “my chains are gone” part where the orchestra stopped and then came barreling back in a quarter rest after the intense harmony hold.
3. The video that played during “Here With Us” where it ended with a clip of Mary holding Jesus to her after he was taking down from the cross and then morphed into Mary holding baby Jesus against her. Tears.
4. My new besties, Sara & Rachael, who in turn invited me to join their ladies club where I met about 8 more new friends! I love new friends and I particularly love these. They were a hoot to sing with too.
5. Scott Sterner’s comment about going to the bathroom and shaking it out, not meant to be referring still to the bathroom, but rather stretching the limbs. Haha, laughter much.
6. The lion-king moment in rehearsal where baby Jesus was held up. The entire choir erupted in laughter. That part was cut, thank God.
7. My family coming to support me, even in-laws. Props. And thank you! I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did!
8. Sarah singing the tag line [loudly] when no one else did. Funny.
9. Awkward situation? “Hug it out!”
10. The rolls, bagels, fruit, cookies, bread, and coffee provided for us this morning at 7 AM.
What an exhausting, but incredibly fun weekend! I feel very festive now!
