Hi, I'm Emily.

The cold has been swept away for a bit. The sun shone brightly today, activating the popular “spring drip”. You know, the gentle sound of snow melted from the rooftops? I love that sound! It was a balmy mid-50s today and, after working on the computer all morning, I decided to take a break and enjoy the outdoors.

After a long walk, I grabbed my camera and headed back out because, well, because as much as I don’t like winter, I do love blue skies. The snow is dirty and sandy, but all of that crud was backed by blue…blue like rich coral reef water. (And, believe it or not, I didn’t edit these photos.)

As I was walking around, my leg suddenly sunk down into the ground…as in, I was standing and then suddenly I was in over my knees in snow. I had no idea what happened, but as I dug myself out, I realized there was a culvert there. I’m just glad that I went straight down and didn’t fall forward or something!

If this is spring, I’ll take it!!!
