Jacob doesn’t remember the very first time they met–they were both students at Oklahoma State and their paths didn’t cross for a while–“but I do remember us walking to the music building one day and she had made cookies, and she gave me one! That’s one of the first times I remember talking to her.”
When they started dating, there were a few months with long distance between them. Emily was in Illinois and Jacob was in Oklahoma. But it was during that time that they both said they knew this was the one. “I actually know the exact date and time, because I wrote it down in my notes app!” Jacob said. “We did long distance for a bit when we first started dating, so there was a lot of FaceTime involved. But it was June 14, 2018 at 12:58 am, that was the moment.”

Fast forward several years and they were on a trip to Chicago with Emily’s family for her birthday. “We went to the Shedd Aquarium on one of the days, and afterwards, walked along Lake Michigan with a great view of the skyline. Jacob asked my Dad to take a couple photos of us with the skyline in the background, and then he got down on knee.”
They are getting married next spring and both of them are so excited to see each other all dressed up and to spend the day with their family and friends and, of course, each other.
