Hi, I'm Emily.

I knew Elizabeth and Michael’s wedding would be beautiful and fun, but even my expectations were exceeded. I started the day with the ladies at the salon where they were eating bits of breakfast in between getting their hair and makeup done. Then, while they finished up there, I moved to Rolling Meadows to start photographing their details. It wasn’t long before the main steam train of the day hit full speed and we were off: first look, portraits, wedding party, family, ceremony! Boom! Almost before we knew what was happening, we were doing a sparkler exit and giving goodbye hugs.

When I look back through some of my favorites from this past weekend, what I see are two best friends who get to share their lives together forever now. The joy of that is so evident on their faces.

Back at their engagement session last fall, Michael described Elizabeth like this: “I am astounded by how thoughtful and selfless she is. She does not think of herself first. I have to almost beg her to think of herself when she deserves to be celebrated. She constantly compliments random people we pass on the street because she knows it might brighten their day to hear that they look nice. She is most likely going to compliment you on something. She never forgets a friend’s birthday and always wants to get a gift. She refuses to eat first even at her own party. She is so selfless, and it astounds me.”

Liz added how she sees Michael: “I admire his heart, the way he cares and loves his friends, his family, and me. I love the way he listens and genuinely wants to support and talk with you. He gets involved in projects and puts his whole heart into them. He always wants to make me laugh and feel happy and loved.”

Congratulations, Liz and Michael!! It’s gonna be forever.

Funnily at this point right here, I didn’t think this gown could get any better on her, then I found out there was more. You guys…it got even better.

We’re going to just need a minute.

My only regret is that I never got to taste this cookie. It was a double layer cookie with icing in the middle (and icing flowers on top)!
