When I photographed their engagement session in April, we had a big laugh because a bird flying somewhere overhead pooped on Kyle’s head. Splat. So when we arrived downtown for Cydney and Kyle’s first look and portraits and were swarmed by hundreds of people walking around with their faces in their phones, we had another good laugh. Cydney said, “Well, this seems like something that would happen to us.” It turned out that this past weekend was the annual (global!) Pokemon Go Fest and we were in the middle of the Iowa City hunt. (I am happy to report that you will not see them in the wedding photos.)
Kyle had previously described Cydney to me as “caring, fun, and hard-working. She is such a kind person. She will always try to make someone happy no matter what. She is so good with kids and helping others in her work. She’s my person and I can’t wait to do life with her. Weddings are one day, but it’s the start of the rest of our lives.” While it may have seemed like it took a while for the day to finally arrive, it did. It was perfect. It was fun. It was beautiful. It was memorable. And it was the best start to the rest of their lives. Congratulations, Cydney and Kyle!
