- New Year’s always brings with it resolutions. And, honestly, I’m kind of tired of resolutions. It’s too much pressure. Too many check-lists in an already full schedule of to-dos. So this year, I opted out completely. Or, well, I was going to opt out, but I was coerced into making a fitness goal for this year. So, pending running injuries, it’s another year of 365 miles and a total count of 300 hours of working out. Other than that, I’m resolution-free. And you know what? It’s awesome!
- Speaking of New Year’s, we totally rocked the low-key celebration this year. We stayed home–just the two of us–and had a huge meal (our usual Christmas Eve feast that we didn’t have then because we weren’t home on Christmas Eve) and then watched the festivities on TV. We watched the ball drop on the east coast and then went to bed. Sometimes I feel like such an old soul. I really do understand now why my parents never stayed up until midnight; it’s exhausting.
- Downton Abbey season 3 started last night and I, for one, could. not. wait. Two commercial-free hours of wonderful acting, beautiful filming, and glorious British accents. I pulled out my teapot and piala just for the occasion, even though I should have made proper English tea instead of Uzbek tea. No matter…
- I just now realized it’s only January 7th. For some reason, I totally thought New Years was 3 weeks ago.
