Ali was a bridesmaid in a wedding I photographed last year and she reached out to me a couple of weeks ago to see if there was any chance I’d have time to do a family photo session while she and her family were in Iowa over Thanksgiving. Between their schedule and mine, there was just one morning that worked and so we got together last Tuesday morning at the Voxman in Iowa City.

Benjamin is 2 and, as a true Covid baby, this was his first time getting his photo taken so they came in with very low expectations and just wanted to see what we could get. He is very typically two with strong opinions (and also having just traveled across the country!) so we wrestled with some cooperation, and I love that, ultimately, I can see his personality in the photos.
