May has been so good to us! April was all over the place with wind and weather, but May…oh, May! Back in February, when I photographed Jackie and Ryan’s engagement session (remember that beautiful Old Capitol shoot?), it was chilly and gray, but for their wedding, the sky was blue, the grass a perfect golf-course green, and the sun shining bright.

Jackie and Ryan got married in Riverside at the Riverside Casino and Golf Resort and we were so lucky to have Shaundria (and later, Elliott) drive us around in golf carts for photos (“just tell me to stop when you see what you want”). The ceremony was outside by the pool, followed directly by a cocktail hour on the pool patio, and then a reception indoors in the ballroom.

Because the wedding was at a casino, Jackie and Ryan (“mostly Jackie,” he said) carefully curated the overall design to be both elegant and formal, while also including really fun nods to the location with playing cards, dice, etc. (Scroll down to see the name cards at the tables and the guest “book.”)

During the reception, I pulled them outside for a few minutes and we got these stunning photos in the glow of the setting sun. Jackie had changed into her mom’s wedding dress!
