One of the greatest joys of wedding photography is getting back together with my wedding couples in the years after they got married and seeing them as parents. I first photographed Stephanie and Matt at their engagement session (back when I was pregnant with Henry!) and then on their wedding day! Two years ago, I got to photograph them again when their son was just over a year old and so it was so much fun to get together with them yet again this past week to get some updated family photos for them. It took quite a while for Silas to warm up to having photos taken and he was a hilarious, ornery little boy for the entire session, but (!) I’m so excited for the images we got. I’ve found that more often than not, allowing a child to move at his or her pace will end up with the most genuine pictures and, usually, that even includes a few of those “picture perfect” moments.
