It’s always so fun to see the Penick family! I’ve had the privilege of photographing so many moments in their lives, starting with Cortney and Christian’s engagement and wedding, and then following up with Cortney’s first pregnancy, then second, and another session in between the two. Last fall, almost a year to the day, we updated their family photos and so, you can imagine, when we were choosing a location, we tried to think of something outside the box, maybe even where we haven’t shot before.

We had beautiful weather this past weekend, much warmer than the previous few weekends, and the girls started with their blankets wrapped around their shoulders, but quickly tossed them as they warmed up, both to the weather and me.
